Working Together

What happens during an initial consultation?

An initial consultation is a focused conversation designed to understand where things currently stand, what questions or concerns are driving the meeting, and where planning gaps may exist. Some clients come in with one immediate issue. Others realize several areas are connected. The goal is clarity, not pressure.

Is there a fee for the first meeting?

The initial consultation is provided at no charge. If additional planning or deeper review work is needed beyond that conversation, next steps are discussed clearly before anything moves forward.

Do I need to have everything figured out before we meet?

Not at all. In many cases, clients reach out because they know something feels incomplete, but they are not sure where to begin. That is a normal place to start.

Do you work with clients outside of Florida?

Yes. Coastal Horizon Financial Solutions works with clients in multiple states.

Coverage and Planning Questions

Are you tied to one insurance company or one planning platform?

No. Recommendations are not built around one carrier or one pre-set menu. We work with a range of top-rated companies and planning solutions so options can be evaluated based on fit, not limitation.

Is this only for people close to retirement?

No. Many clients are still actively working, changing roles, building independent income, running businesses, or trying to make stronger long-range decisions before pressure builds. Some are already retired, as well.

I already have employer benefits. Is this still useful?

Employer benefits can provide a foundation, but they are often limited, temporary, or built around generalized enrollment options. Many clients simply want to understand whether what they currently have is enough and where blind spots may exist.

Do you only handle insurance?

No. Insurance decisions are often one piece of a broader planning structure. We also help clients evaluate rollover decisions, income continuity concerns, long-range distribution planning, and benefit coordination across different areas.

Situational Questions

Can you help if I am between jobs or recently left an employer?

Yes. Career transitions often create urgent coverage questions, rollover decisions, and planning uncertainty. This is one of the most common times people realize employer systems were carrying more than they thought.

Do you work with independent contractors, freelancers, or business owners?

Yes. We frequently work with clients whose income, benefits, or long-term planning decisions are no longer being handled through a traditional employer structure.

What if I already have a financial advisor, CPA, or attorney?

That is not uncommon. Many clients already have professionals in place. Our role is often to review the benefit and protection side of the structure, identify planning blind spots, and coordinate where appropriate.

How are recommendations made?

Recommendations are made after evaluating the full picture — current coverage, income structure, long-term objectives, health considerations, family priorities, and existing gaps. The goal is not to add products. The goal is to build decisions that make sense together.

What if I am not sure whether my issue is something you handle?

That is exactly why the initial conversation exists. If it falls within our scope, we can determine the right next step. If it does not, we can usually point you in the right direction.
